The Department of Haematology at UCLH is seeking a Red Cell Clinical Education/Management Fellow at ST6 level to join our team in August for a period of 12 months.
Red Cell Haematology is part of UCL / UCLH Haematology Department and undertakes education, service improvement and provides clinical care for patients with haemoglobinopathies and rare inherited anaemias.
This is a full-time 1 year clinical, research and service improvement post based at UCH, with the aim to improve the care of red cell patients across the Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre Network.
The postholder will be working clinically with a variety of patient groups and healthcare providers. The expectation would be to understand how management and education structures work within the NHS to facilitate improvements in care.
The postholder will take an active part in the general work of The Red Cell Network, which will include staff training, attendance at management meetings both locally and at an Integrated Clinical System and national (NHSE) level across the geographical patch. The postholder may undertake academic and clinical research to advance the understanding of haemoglobinopathies within the UK.
Applicants should be an established haematology registrar at ST6 level.
- Representation of the trust at network wide meetings
- Developing and delivery of specialist red cell training to clinicians across the red cell network
- Development of network wide policies relating to the care of red cell patients.
- presence at regional and national meetings with NHSE.
- Participating in collaborative national initiatives, alongside other haemoglobinopathy focused organisations and project teams, to improve experience for clinicians and patients.
