Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our commercial team. This is an office-based role at our Warmley, Bristol office, with regular site visits required to support tender preparation, validate assumptions, and assess site constraints.
The Estimator will play a key role in securing new work by producing accurate, competitive, and commercially robust estimates for refurbishment projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Review and analysis of drawings, specifications, and Employer’s Requirements
- Measurement and take-offs using drawings and digital tools
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Attending site visits to understand access, logistics, phasing, and constraints
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Supporting pricing strategy and tender clarifications
- Assisting with handover of successful tenders to delivery teams
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost data
Requirements & Experience Essential:
- Experience in an Estimator or Assistant Estimator role
- Strong understanding of construction estimating principles
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- High level of attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Refurbishment or fit-out experience
- Experience working in live or occupied environments
- Knowledge of student accommodation, hotel, or residential sectors
- Relevant construction or commercial qualification (or working towards)
