Job Summary
To provide high-quality teaching, learning and pastoral support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ensuring they can access an ambitious curriculum, develop emotional regulation and make strong academic, social and personal progress.
The postholder will create safe, predictable and relational learning environments, adapting teaching and behaviour support to meet complex needs including trauma, attachment difficulties, neurodiversity and associated barriers to learning.
Duties
Teaching & Learning
Deliver engaging, sequenced and differentiated lessons; use assessment to adapt teaching for SEMH, SEND and neurodiverse learners; track progress; give meaningful feedback; maintain high expectations; provide targeted intervention; support resilience and independence; contribute to curriculum development and formal reviews.

Build trusting relationships; use trauma‑informed, relational approaches; implement behaviour and therapeutic plans; respond to dysregulation and crisis; promote emotional literacy; work closely with therapy teams and external professionals; contribute to individual support planning.

Maintain vigilant safeguarding; report concerns promptly; support attendance and reintegration; ensure physical and emotional safety; contribute to risk management across all learning environments.
