We are looking for an experienced and hardworking joiner to join our
growing production team.
The successful candidate will build timber frames, dress fire doors
and hang doors into frames within a controlled factory environment.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in
their work, can maintain high standards and is comfortable working in
a fast-paced production setting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manufacturing and assembling timber door frames
- Dressing fire doors with hinges, locks, closers, seals and other ironmongery to include vision panels.
- Hanging and accurately fitting doors into frames
- Checking doorsets against drawings, specifications and quality requirements
- Collecting and checking ironmongery from picking lists
- Preparing ironmongery and completed products for delivery
- Completing production and quality-control paperwork
- Keeping the work area clean, organised and safe
- Supporting other production areas when required
- Helping less-experienced team members and demonstrating leadership when needed
- Working towards production targets without compromising safety or quality
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES
Applicants must have:
- Previous joinery or bench-joinery experience
- Experience using woodworking machinery and hand tools safely
- The ability to accurately read measurements, drawings and picking lists
- A keen eye for quality, accuracy and detail
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A versatile and flexible approach to work
- The confidence to show initiative and leadership
- A willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced production environment
- Good timekeeping, reliability and attendance
- A willingness to go the extra mile and work overtime when required
Experience manufacturing fire doors, doorsets or timber frames would
be advantageous, but additional training will be provided to the right
person.
