Role overview
This fixed-term contract (6 month) focuses on the co-ordination and development of a strategic account management framework to manage key Sports clients in the Business Travel and Team Travel functions. It primarily involves working with the operations and team travel teams to ensure holistic management and ROI focus, ensuring there is a clear and concise strategy for the department in line with wider business objectives. The role will focus on driving sustainable revenue growth and maximising profitability across our portfolio of accounts, in addition to expanding client relationships, identifying new commercial opportunities and increasing account value through strategic up-selling, cross-selling and retention initiatives.
Key areas
- Lead and deliver the Account Management strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and revenue targets.
- Develop a consistent account review framework across Business Travel and Sports Travel clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including clubs, federations, and event organisers.
- Drive revenue growth through account development, upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new opportunities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers, fostering a high-performance, client-focused culture.
- Oversee client retention, satisfaction, and account health, proactively managing risks and resolving escalations.
- Allocate accounts strategically across the team to maximise client service and commercial performance.
- Develop and manage a negotiated hotel programme that supports commercial and client objectives.
- Work closely with Operations, Product, Marketing and Business Development teams to support account growth and service excellence.
- Support new client onboarding, tenders, and proposals, with a strong focus on retention and tender avoidance.
- Monitor performance, client objectives and KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Continually improve account management processes, ensuring consistency, scalability, and best practice across the function.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
Experince
- Experience within a TMC in a senior Account Management leadership role.
- Proven success in client retention, account growth and revenue generation.
- Previous experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial and strategic mindset.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Data-driven, with the ability to turn insight into action.
- Strong understanding of the business travel industry.
- Experience developing customer review and account management frameworks.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
- Supplier negotiation experience is advantageous.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated, customer-focused and results-driven.
