An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Resource Management Solutions (RMS) Competency Centre within Business Technology Solutions (BTS).
The RMS Competency Centre is responsible for the ongoing development, support, governance and optimisation of Fife Council’s Oracle Cloud Strategic Platform. This includes Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Payroll, Recruitment, Warehouse Management, Learning and Planning & Budgeting solutions.
As a Systems Specialist, you will provide specialist technical and business expertise. You will support the design, development, implementation and ongoing management of Oracle Cloud solutions.
You will work closely with colleagues, subject matter experts, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver system enhancements, and identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology.
You will :
- Take a leading role in the analysis, design and implementation of system improvements and new functionality.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate these into practical solutions.
- Provide specialist business and technical knowledge across Oracle Cloud and related technologies.
- Support Oracle quarterly releases, testing activity and business readiness.
- Develop and maintain integrations, workflows, reports, security configurations and system documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activity that improves service delivery and maximises the benefits of the Oracle Strategic Platform.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers and support providers where required.
The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is interested in using technology to improve services and deliver business value.
- Education to SCQF Level 7 in a computing, systems or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience of supporting, developing or implementing business systems in a complex environment.
- Experience translating business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Strong technical skills, preferably gained in an Oracle environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify workable solutions.
- Experience producing clear technical, user and support documentation.
- Communication skills that support effective advising, explaining and working with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Experience of Oracle Cloud applications, ERP systems, systems integration, reporting solutions or low-code technologies would be advantageous.
