Overview
iSteel is looking for a talented and ambitious Graphic Designer & Content Creator to join our growing in-house marketing team.
This is a varied, hands-on creative role with a core focus on graphic design, content creation and organic social media, alongside image retouching, website content and print.
Working closely with our Creative Director, you'll help turn ideas and creative direction into beautifully executed content across the iSteel brand.
One day you might be designing a new brochure, the next retouching photography from a completed project, creating content for Instagram, editing a Reel or updating a case study on our website.
We're looking for someone who is creative but organised, ambitious but collaborative, and who genuinely cares about getting the details right.
This could be an excellent next step for someone with a few years' commercial or agency experience who wants greater creative variety, responsibility and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Content
- Create high-quality graphics and marketing materials for digital and print
- Design brochures, catalogues, lookbooks, flyers, posters and other marketing literature
- Produce website graphics, social media content, digital advertising creative and email assets
- Retouch and enhance photography for web, social and print
- Prepare professional artwork for print
- Maintain consistency and quality across the iSteel brand
- Help maintain and organise our growing library of photography, video, artwork and marketing assets
You'll be confident using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with Adobe InDesign experience important for brochures and other multi-page publications.
A strong understanding of typography, composition, layout and visual hierarchy will be important.
Social Media
You'll take day-to-day ownership of iSteel's organic social media presence, working collaboratively with and under the wider direction of our Creative Director.
This includes Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok and YouTube.
You'll:
- Help plan and manage our social content calendar
- Create graphics, imagery and video content
- Write engaging captions and supporting copy
- Schedule and publish content
- Create Reels, Shorts and other short-form content
- Repurpose content effectively across different platforms
- Monitor engagement and maintain an active, consistent presence
- Identify new content opportunities and relevant trends
You'll also work alongside our Digital Marketing Manager to create content and creative assets for paid advertising campaigns.
Photography, Video & AI
Photography and video are increasingly important to the iSteel brand, so experience in these areas would be a significant advantage.
There will be opportunities to photograph and film completed projects, products, manufacturing, showrooms, interviews, collaborations and behind-the-scenes content.
Some travel to projects and locations around the UK may be required, with a company vehicle available where appropriate.
Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video-editing software would be particularly valuable. After Effects, motion graphics and more advanced videography skills would be a bonus rather than a requirement.
We're also increasingly exploring AI-assisted creative production.
Experience using tools such as Adobe Firefly, Photoshop Generative Fill or other generative AI tools for image creation, retouching and compositing would be advantageous. We're equally interested in someone who is enthusiastic about developing their skills in this rapidly evolving area.
Accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Our imagery must remain a true reflection of the iSteel brand and the products we manufacture. AI and retouching should enhance our creative work, not create misleading or unrealistic representations of our products.
Website, Copy & Email
You'll help keep the creative and content side of our website fresh and up to date, including:
- Uploading projects, case studies and blog content
- Updating imagery, graphics and copy
- Making content changes through our CMS
- Writing and editing website and blog copy
- Preparing and optimising images for digital use
- Supporting email marketing campaigns
- Creating email graphics and content
You'll work alongside our Digital Marketing Manager, who will have overall responsibility for website performance, SEO, analytics, paid media and tracking.
You don't need to be an SEO expert, but we'd like you to understand the importance of creating good, search-friendly digital content.
About You
We're looking first and foremost for a genuinely good designer with strong creative judgement.
You'll ideally have around 2–5 years' commercial experience, perhaps within a design or marketing agency, an in-house creative team or a similar fast-paced environment.
We're particularly interested in candidates with:
- Strong Adobe Photoshop skills
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills
- Adobe InDesign experience
- A strong eye for typography, layout and composition
- Image editing and retouching experience
- Experience creating content for social media
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisation and time management
- Good written English and copywriting ability
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience with photography, videography, Premiere Pro, short-form video, AI-assisted creative tools, CMS platforms, email marketing or basic SEO would be particularly advantageous.
We don't expect you to be an expert in everything.
We're more interested in finding someone with excellent core design skills, broad creative ability, a positive attitude and the enthusiasm to continue learning and developing.
The Person
Technical and creative ability are important to us, but attitude is equally important.
We're building a small, collaborative marketing team and want someone who:
- Takes genuine pride in the quality of their work
- Notices the small details
- Is creative but organised
- Has a positive, can-do attitude
- Responds positively to creative direction and feedback
- Can take a brief and run with it
- Takes responsibility for completing work accurately and on time
- Contributes their own ideas
- Is keen to learn and continually improve
- Enjoys collaborating rather than working in a silo
You'll work closely with our Creative Director, who will provide the wider creative and brand direction.
We're looking for someone who can understand that direction, contribute their own ideas and then take responsibility for turning it into excellent finished work, accurately and on time.
As your knowledge of iSteel develops, we'd expect you to gain increasing ownership and independence.
