Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers, maintaining excellent communication throughout the process. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the efficient operation of our logistics services.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vans to transport goods to various locations within designated routes
- Load and unload items, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, including signatures and relevant documentation
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety on the road
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and customers
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during deliveries
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area is preferred
