P&O Heritage are currently recruiting for a Collections Information Assistant to join our Heritage team in London on a two-year fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Senior Curator, you will support the day-to-day management of the P&O Heritage collection through cataloguing, documentation and collections information activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving access to one of the world's most significant maritime collections. You will support major data cleansing and digitisation projects, helping to standardise collection information and contribute to the migration to a new Collections Management System, while ensuring the highest standards of collections management and documentation.
How you will contribute

Support the day-to-day management of the Heritage collection, including cataloguing, auditing, loans, digitisation, image licensing and research enquiries.

Assist with data cleansing projects, improving the accuracy, consistency and quality of collections information.

Support the migration of collection data to a new Collections Management System through data mapping and documentation improvements.

Contribute to the development and implementation of documentation procedures aligned with SPECTRUM standards.

Expand digital access to the collection through cataloguing, scanning, image management and data uploads.

Assist with cataloguing backlogs, digitisation projects and the ongoing maintenance of collection records.

Support internal and external engagement with the collection through collection highlights, online content and responding to heritage enquiries.

Ensure all activities are carried out in line with DP World's values, Health & Safety requirements and Code of Conduct.
What you will bring

Degree or equivalent qualification in Museum Studies, Art History, Archive Management or a related discipline.

Experience working with museum, archive or heritage collections.

Experience using Collections Management Systems (such as Mimsy XG or similar) and maintaining documentation to recognised standards, including SPECTRUM.

Practical experience handling, cataloguing and documenting museum objects or archival material.

Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage data accurately.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Experience with digitisation, image management or Adobe Photoshop would be advantageous.

An interest in maritime history, digital collections or heritage engagement would be beneficial.

A proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
