We are looking for a passionate Junior Fabric Buyer to support our purchasing department with the selection and procurement of raw materials/products. The fabric buyer's responsibilities include maintaining positive vendor relations, preparing pricing strategies, placing and tracking purchase orders, managing inventory and keeping track of market trends.
To be successful as a fabric buyer, you should be confident, highly organized and an excellent communicator. An outstanding fabric buyer has an analytical mind and excellent negotiating skills.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute and support with Sign Off meetings; including comp shops, costings, fabrics, trims and colours are all organised ready for these meetings.
- Managing the raw material archive, keeping a file of all approvals and samples for reference.
- Approvals for lab dips, fabrics, trims to be done
- Work with studio for quantifying orders, ensuring stock is delivered and managed
- Manage the accuracy and detail of sourcing buys and deliveries to the critical path
- Check the accuracy and detail of care and wash labels
- Run and work with development and production team on deliveries
- Chasing hand-overs, fit comments and general approvals or actions required with suppliers & mills
- Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to the team. Attending trade fairs and curating fabric stories
- Action any delays, cancellations or phasing with the team and suppliers/factories
- Planning, monitoring and maintaining suitable inventory levels
- Ensuring raw materials are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price
- Preparing budgets and forecasting purchasing trends
- Negotiating with suppliers and building positive, long-term relationships
- Preparing competitive pricing strategies
- Understand and accurately manage raw material for PO's and sizing
Requirements:
- Degree in Fashion business, textiles, or related field preferred
- Previous experience in buying or merchandising is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
- Experience with buying/mechandising software systems is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel and Adobe illustrator/photoshop packages
- Multilingual in French or Italian is a plus.

Pay: £22,100.03-£37,998.48 per year
