The Deputy Manager is responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in overseeing the delivery of high-quality domiciliary care services. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading and supporting care staff to provide exceptional care to service users.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, support, and motivate care staff.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions to provide guidance and support.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure care services meet the highest standards.
- Implement and monitor improvements and corrective actions.
- Ensure care plans are accurate, personalized, and regularly reviewed and updated.
Client Care:
- Address and resolve any concerns or complaints from service users or their families promptly and effectively.
- Promote a person-centered approach to care, ensuring the individual needs of service users are met.
- Conduct regular visits to service users to assess and ensure the quality of care provided.
Compliance:
- Ensure all activities and services comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in social care legislation and best practices.
- Assist with preparations for inspections and audits by regulatory bodies.
Training and Development:
- Oversee the planning and delivery of training programs for care staff.
- Identify training needs and facilitate relevant learning and development opportunities.
- Ensure all staff are up-to-date with mandatory training requirements.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with scheduling and rostering to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
- Prepare and submit reports to senior management as required.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure a safe working environment for staff and service users.
- Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage identified risks appropriately.
