Duties
- Monitor residents overnight, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or urgent needs during the night
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and repositioning as required
- Maintain accurate care plans and document any changes or incidents throughout your shift
- Conduct regular checks of the environment to ensure safety standards are upheld
- Support with light housekeeping duties to keep communal areas clean and welcoming
- Communicate clearly with day staff about resident status and any concerns that arise during your shift
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, colleagues, and emergency services
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is highly desirable
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to individual resident needs
- Good IT skills for recording notes, updating records, and managing documentation electronically
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting transportation needs if required
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring, respectful approach towards residents
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly in emergency situations
