The Role
The Front Office Receptionist will support the Front of House Team Leader in the day-to-day operation of the Front Office Department, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient reception operations, and high standards of team performance and conduct.
Job Purpose
To provide a warm, professional, and efficient front-of-house service to all guests, ensuring a positive first and last impression of the hotel. The Receptionist is responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling enquiries, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the front desk.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
· Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
· Handle check-in and check-out procedures efficiently
· Respond to guest enquiries in person, by phone, and via email
· Provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions
· Resolve guest concerns or escalate where appropriate
Front Desk Operations
· Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally
· Manage reservations, amendments, and cancellations (where required)
· Process payments and maintain accurate billing records
· Operate the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS)
Administration & Accuracy
· Maintain accurate guest records and documentation
· Ensure all bookings and guest details are correctly entered into the system
· Balance cash and card transactions at the end of shifts (if required)
Communication & Teamwork
· Work closely with housekeeping, reservations, and maintenance teams
· Communicate room status, guest requests, and issues effectively
· Support colleagues to ensure smooth hotel operations
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Follow all health and safety procedures
· Maintain security awareness at the front desk
· Handle guest data in line with UK GDPR

· Deliver excellent customer service at all times
· Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
· Demonstrate strong attention to detail
· Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Be reliable, punctual, and flexible

Desirable Experience
- Experience within a luxury or boutique hospitality environment
- Previous experience using PMS/booking systems
- Understanding of GDPR and confidential handling of guest information
Hours full time 37.5 5 days a week working between Monday to Sunday. Flexibility to work extra hours to cover absence and holidays
Pay £12.80 Per hour

Retention Bonus
Following the successful completion of one (1) year’s continuous service, you will become eligible to receive a retention bonus.
The retention bonus will:
- be paid quarterly in arrears;
- initially equal 1% of your annual basic salary after one (1) completed year of service; and
- increase by an additional 1% of annual basic salary for each further completed year of continuous service, up to a maximum of 20% of annual basic salary after twenty (20) years’
