Job Summary
We are seeking to employ a Retail Security Officer to operate within a busy retail premises.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for monitoring the premises, preventing loss, and responding swiftly to incidents. Your keen eye for surveillance and commitment to safety will help protect assets, staff, and customers alike.
Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous surveillance of the store using CCTV systems to monitor activity and identify potential security threats or suspicious behavior.
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer and employee activities, deterring theft, and intervening when necessary.
- Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, by providing first aid assistance when required.
- Control access points by verifying identification and authorizing entry for staff, vendors, or visitors to maintain a secure environment.
- Perform regular patrols of the store premises, including aisles, entrances, exits, and storage areas to ensure safety protocols are upheld.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and logs of suspicious activities or security breaches for future reference and investigations.
- Collaborate with local emergency responders during incidents to ensure swift resolution and safety of all individuals on-site.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, surveillance, or loss prevention is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to identify unusual or suspicious activity quickly.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while responding effectively to emergencies or conflicts.
- Certification in first aid or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with staff, customers, and emergency personnel.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods throughout shifts.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 per week
