Overview
The project is a collaboration with Rolls-Royce on investigation of the coking process and the produced deposit layer characteristics in the jet engine fuel system. This requires metallurgical analysis and mechanical assessment of the deposit layer formation in various materials and understand the effect of various surface conditions on the deposit formation.
A good knowledge and experience in material analysis including optical and scanning electron microscopy is required.
Main duties and responsibilities
To work with the industrial partners and other academic partners effectively and communicate the results
Conduct the required experiments as agreed based on the project plan
Analyse the results and present the findings in the weekly meetings
Prepare draft of the potential publications with the other partners
Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post
