Job Opportunity: HGV Driver (up to 18T) & Yard Assistant – Sub-Contractor
Location: Corby / Kettering, Northamptonshire
Start Date: Immediate, due to increased operational demand
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly motivated HGV Driver to join our team on a subcontractor basis. This position has become available because of sustained growth and increased workload. We are looking for a professional individual who can support our operations and contribute to the efficient running of our daily activities.
Role Details
- Sub-contractor position – 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:30
- Flexibility: Ability to work additional hours when required
- Pay: £150–£175 per day (dependent on experience and vehicle licences)
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering and collecting materials from sites (vehicles up to 18T rigid)
- Loading and unloading lorries
- Conducting vehicle checks and ensuring proper maintenance of company goods vehicles
- Assisting with general yard duties and maintenance when not on deliveries
Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence – essential
- HGV licence up to 18T – essential
- Experience working with scaffold systems is an advantage
- Forklift / Telehandler licence preferred (training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Someone who is flexible and can manage their start times to ensure deliveries are made on time
