Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring all areas are hygienic and well-stocked. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional culinary setting, suitable for individuals interested in developing their skills in food preparation, cooking, and hospitality. Previous restaurant or hotel experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and kitchen equipment
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Restocking supplies and organising storage areas to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Supporting the kitchen team during service periods to ensure timely delivery of meals
- Adhering to health and safety standards at all times to promote a safe working environment
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in line with company policies
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with food preparation and basic cooking techniques is a plus
- Experience working in a busy kitchen setting will be advantageous
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role
