Overview
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Handyman/woman to join our team and ensure the maintenance, repair, and improvement of various facilities and structures. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from small repairs to larger construction tasks, helping us maintain a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a wide range of skills across multiple trades.
Duties
- Perform carpentry tasks including framing, cabinetry, door/window repairs, and general woodworking projects
- Conduct roofing repairs and maintenance to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing
- Carry out construction painting to enhance the appearance and protect surfaces from damage
- Handle plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, installing fixtures, and maintaining water systems
- Execute masonry work including bricklaying, concrete work, and stone repairs
- Utilize welding techniques for metal fabrication and repair projects
- Conduct electrical work within scope of experience for wiring, outlet installation, and troubleshooting using hand tools and power tools
- Fabricate custom parts or structures as needed using various fabrication tools and techniques
- Maintain safety standards while working with diverse tools and materials
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, or electrical work is highly preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, etc., as well as power tools like drills, saws, grinders, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction and maintenance work
- Experience working on multiple trades or general maintenance roles is advantageous
- Certification or training in relevant trades or safety standards is a plus but not mandatory
