Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supervisor to supervise daily operations within a specific production section of our window and door manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will lead a team of production workers to meet quality, efficiency, and safety targets while ensuring smooth workflow and continuous improvement. This hands-on leadership role requires strong communication skills, technical understanding of production processes, and a commitment to team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision:
- Lead and coordinate a team of operators, assemblers, and technicians within an assigned section (e.g., frame assembly, glazing, hardware fitting).
- Allocate tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure shift targets are met.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support to team members.
Production Execution:
- Ensure daily production schedules are executed effectively and on time.
- Monitor machinery and equipment performance, and report issues to maintenance promptly.
- Support the implementation of new processes and procedures in your section.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet company and customer specifications.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and assist in root cause analysis when defects occur.
- Promote and enforce adherence to quality standards and work instructions.
Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and immediately address unsafe practices.
- Participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate production updates, challenges, and successes to the Production Manager.
- Complete daily production reports and assist with shift handovers.
- Collaborate with other section leaders to ensure a smooth production flow.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and suggest improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S implementation..
- Proven experience in manufacturing supervision or a similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to window and door assembly.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Experience in assembly processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in windows and doors (but not essential).
- Previous leadership or team lead experience (minimum 1–2 years preferred).
- Good understanding of production processes, tools, and materials used in window and door fabrication.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings or work orders (an advantage).
Familiarity with health & safety regulations.
