Registered Manager Required
We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead an established children's residential home in Northampton.
The home supports children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and is currently rated Good by Ofsted. A full and experienced staff team is already in place, allowing the successful manager to focus on maintaining high standards, developing the service and achieving positive outcomes for the children and young people.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Children's Home Registered Manager who has previously achieved at least one successful Ofsted registration with a Good or Outstanding inspection outcome.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential home.
- At least one successful Ofsted registration with a Good or Outstanding outcome.
- Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Experience leading, supervising and developing residential childcare teams.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and safer recruitment.
- Experience managing budgets, audits and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children and Young People's Workforce, or an equivalent qualification.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or an equivalent management qualification.
- Candidates currently completing their Level 5 qualification may be considered depending on their management experience and previous Ofsted outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management and development of the home.
- Maintaining the home's Good Ofsted rating and working towards Outstanding.
- Providing visible, consistent and child-focused leadership.
- Ensuring children and young people receive safe, nurturing and high-quality care.
- Promoting positive outcomes in line with individual care plans.
- Ensuring the home complies with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Leading on safeguarding and ensuring concerns are reported and managed appropriately.
- Preparing the home and staff team for Ofsted inspections.
- Managing referrals, admissions and placement matching.
- Providing regular supervision, appraisal and performance management for staff.
- Supporting staff training, development and retention.
- Maintaining safe and effective staffing levels.
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, incident reports and regulatory records.
- Managing the home's budget and resources effectively.
- Completing audits, monitoring reports and quality-assurance checks.
- Building positive relationships with children, families, social workers, local authorities and external professionals.
- Reporting regularly to the Responsible Individual and senior management team.
- Promoting a positive culture of accountability, reflection and continuous improvement.
