Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders with enthusiasm, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Prepare and serve food and beverages, including coffee, tea, snacks, and light meals, maintaining high quality standards
- Operate coffee machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently as part of daily food preparation
- Serve customers at the counter or table, providing attentive service and answering any questions about menu items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including counters, tables, kitchen stations, and storage spaces
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times
- Manage cash register transactions accurately using basic math skills, handle payments, and give correct change
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory checks to keep supplies well-stocked for busy periods
- Support team members with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth cafe operations
Requirements
- Prior experience as a barista or in food service is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene and sanitation
- Ability to operate coffee machines and basic kitchen equipment safely
- Strong serving skills with a friendly, approachable attitude towards customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Excellent time management skills to juggle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly between stations, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude
