We are currently looking for a dental practice manager for our established private practice located in the heart of Alton, Hampshire.
Watercress House Dental and Implant clinic is a private specialist practice located in Alton town centre and was established in 1999.
Our ethos is to provide a comprehensive family service – offering excellent dental care alongside specialist services, including endodontics, oral surgery, sedation and implant treatment.
The three surgery practice is a fully computerised (Dentally) and equipped with digital radiography to include CBCT scan, OPG and lateral Ceph , as well as a varifocal microscope.
An experienced and enthusiastic full/part time Practice Manager is required to lead, manage and grow this venture. The appointed manager will be working closely with the practice principal to develop the business.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a friendly personality who is interested in working as part of a team. You need to be pro-active, a good listener, have an entrepreneurial attitude and excellent telephone manners. Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
The ideal candidate will have previous managerial experience, preferably in a medical/dental environment and be GDC registered.
Manager responsibility will include:
Personnel
· Take line management responsibility including motivating, setting objectives and help with new staff induction and appraisals.
· Assist with the recruitment and disciplinary matters
· Keep and monitor staff records (i.e sickness absence and annual leave)
· Keep the practice’s contracts of employment up to date
· Organise, attend and participate in practice meetings
Finance
· Take responsibility for and supervise all banking procedures, including deposits, payments and checking bank statements
· Arrange the payment of all staff and associates
· Ensure the operation of the patient payment policy and the collection of outstanding debts
· Check invoices and prepare payment cheques for signature
Patients
- Ensure efficient operation of the patient recall system
- Supervise the operation of the practice complaints procedure
- Deal with patient queries which cannot be dealt with by other team members
- Keep the practice leaflets and other patient communications up-to-date
- Prepare monthly KPI's
- Develop the practice online and social media presence (website, Google reviews, social media, promotions)

About the candidate
- Experience in a managerial or leadership role in the dental / medical sector
- Enthusiastic and motivated to grow the business (develop a specialist referral practice, a study club, integrate with the other in-house business to improve customer experience, practice reputation, cross over of patients)
- Organised and efficient and open to new challenges
- Ability to work both independently and alongside the practice principal
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to drive growth and operate effective day to day financial and operational management
- Hold CQC registration as a Practice Manager or willingness and commitment to complete necessary requirements (including DBS check) to obtain registration
Part-time / full-time hours: approx. 30 -40 hours per week, flexible hours considered
