Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team as the Wellbeing & Practice Lead. This pivotal role involves leading and supporting high-quality childcare practices within our nursery setting, ensuring the wellbeing of children and staff, and fostering a nurturing environment for early childhood development. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and promoting best practices in early years education.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the implementation of wellbeing initiatives to promote a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children.
- Oversee daily nursery operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.
- Support and mentor nursery staff, providing guidance on best practices in childcare and early childhood education.
- Develop and review policies related to child welfare, safeguarding, and educational activities.
- Foster effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children's development and wellbeing.
- Organise training sessions and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills.
- Monitor the quality of care provided, conducting regular assessments and implementing improvements where necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold high standards of practice within the nursery setting.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings.
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child welfare practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise effectively with children, parents, staff, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative independently.
- Organised with strong planning skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Experience working directly with children across various age groups in a nursery environment.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travel between sites or community engagement activities. Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
