Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our in-house folding team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sewing & repairing all types of workwear garments - overalls, trousers, jackets, coats that are processed through our industrial laundry, once dried the garments that need machinery repairs on either our flat bed machines / overlockers or whatever is required from our clients reference from the repair cards inc. zip repairs, turning up arms & sleeves, hemming, patch & stitch repairs, once repairs are finished you will be required to join in with the folding & bagging of garments with the rest of the folding team in which you will be on your feet for most of the day with allocated break time.
Responsibilities
- Operate, and monitor different types of sewing machining equipment for garment repairs
- Adjust machine settings as needed to meet quality standards and production deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members when not repairing garment by helping the folding team.
Skills
- Previous experience in sewing is essential, demonstrating manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to operate sewing machinery, flat bed & overlockers
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
This job would suit a semi retired or part-time individual but we will need experience in all above skills regarding the sewing machinist!
working days would be Wednesday & Thursday with hours to suit, extra hours available when covering other members of staff for holiday periods if wanted.
