Job Overview
Seabank House Café Bar is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Café Team Member to join our team.
You’ll play an important part in creating the warm, welcoming atmosphere our customers know us for. The role includes preparing quality coffees and other drinks, serving fresh food and alcohol, taking orders and ensuring our customers are always looked after to a high standard.
Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Remain aware of customers’ needs and ensure they are always looked after to a high standard.
- Take orders accurately and serve food and drinks promptly.
- Prepare coffees, teas and other beverages to a consistently high standard.
- Serve alcoholic drinks responsibly and in accordance with licensing requirements.
- Assist with preparing and presenting fresh food and light snacks.
- Keep tables, counters, equipment and food-preparation areas clean and organised.
- Remain productive throughout every shift and use your initiative to identify cleaning, restocking or other tasks that need to be completed.
- During quieter moments, team members are able to use their initiative and help with any tasks that need attention, while continuing to make our customers feel welcome and well looked after.
- Process cash and card payments accurately using the till system.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining excellent service.
- Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive working environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Must be able and willing to serve alcohol.
- Previous café, barista or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A friendly, positive and professional attitude.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Reliability, good timekeeping and a strong work ethic.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to remain productive without needing constant direction.
- The ability to stay observant and put customers first at all times.
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Confidence working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic numeracy skills for processing customer payments.
- An understanding of food hygiene and safety practices would be an advantage.

Pay: £12.80-£13.00 per hour
