Status Employment are a Supported Employment Charity with over 30 years’ experience of delivering support. We assist people with health conditions, disabilities and complex needs to gain and retain employment by offering 1-2-1 information, advice and guidance alongside practical support.
Job description – Employment Advisor
We are currently looking for a number of Employment Advisor to work within our Complex need’s employment services.
Based on various internal changes we have opportunities for part-time advisors (21 hours/3 days week), Full-time Advisors (35 hours) and maternity cover opportunities.
As an Employment Advisor, you will manage a caseload of your own clients providing tailored support in line with evidence practice practices (SEQF/IPS). You will support the full client journey by following the stages of supported employment
· Engagement
· Vocational profiling
· Action planning
· Employer engagement
· Follow along support
Working in partnership with a range of stakeholders and partners you will generate referrals and collaborate with external services to ensure clients receive a holistic package of support.
You will provide a combination of information advice and guidance couple of practical support to clients on a one to one and group basis.
You will be based from our Croydon (with the ability to do a proportion of home working). There is a need and expectation that you will visit both our offices, community venues and partner premise each week to deliver support.
Though experience is an Employment Advisor is desirable your ability to build report and relationships with clients and employers is essential as is your belief that anyone can work with the right support.
Additional travel outside of your normal commute will be reimbursed.
Experience:
- Experience of delivering effective employment support
- Experience of working with people with complex needs
- Experience of engaging with employers
Knowledge:
- Understanding of the challenges that disabled jobseekers face
- Basic knowledge of supported employment

- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with a range of people.
- Good organisational ability
- Natural ability to build close, trusting and productive relationships with people.
