We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure optimal safety, performance, and reliability. Responsibilities
- Carrying out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance.
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Repairing or replacing faulty components, including engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems.
- Inspecting vehicles to identify defects and recommend necessary repairs.
- Performing MOT preparation work and carrying out repairs required to meet roadworthiness standards.
- Conducting engine tuning and performance checks.
- Repairing and maintaining vehicle electrical systems, including batteries, lighting, starters, alternators, and wiring.
- Replacing timing belts, clutches, water pumps, and other major vehicle components.
- Servicing air conditioning systems where qualified to do so.
- Changing tyres, balancing wheels, and carrying out wheel alignment.
- Testing vehicles after repairs to ensure faults have been rectified.
- Completing job cards, service records, and repair documentation accurately.
- Explaining repair work and maintenance recommendations to customers when required.
- Following manufacturer repair procedures and technical specifications.
- Using workshop tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic software safely and correctly.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Complying with health and safety regulations and environmental procedures, including the safe disposal of oils, fluids, batteries, and other hazardous waste.
- Keeping up to date with new vehicle technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
- Managing workload efficiently to meet workshop deadlines.
- Working collaboratively with other technicians, service advisors, and parts departments.
- Providing high-quality workmanship while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle repair or maintenance. Level 2 or 3 qualifcation preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in automotive servicing.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as part of routine repair tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and customers.
- Prior experience working with diagnostic equipment is a plus but not required.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred.

Pay: £26,277.61-£47,450.19 per year
