Guildhall Surgery is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our practice team. This role is essential in ensuring that patient records are accurate, up to date, and maintained in line with both clinical and contractual requirements.
Working with the EMIS Web system, you will be responsible for medical record summarisation, SNOMED coding, and the effective management of patient information. You will also support the timely and accurate flow of information between the practice, Primary Care Support England (PCSE), and NHS England.
Job Description:
- Ensure accurate SNOMED coding, covering QOF, IIF, and Enhanced Services, to facilitate patient recalls and maintain comprehensive medical records.
- Summarise the medical history of all new patients, both from paper files and electronic sources.
- Keep existing patient files accurate and up to date, making changes to diary entries where necessary.
- Undertake assigned duties and provide support with any other reasonable tasks as needed.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Good standard of education, including GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
- Competent IT skills with the ability to use a range of computer systems confidently.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Well organised, reliable, and able to prioritise tasks and work effectively to deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable:
(Full training will be provided, so these are advantageous but not essential.)
- Training or experience in medical terminology or healthcare administration.
- Previous experience working within NHS primary care.
- Experience of medical records summarising and document scanning.
- Knowledge of EMIS and the use of SNOMED or Read Codes.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to managing workload and changing priorities.
Working Pattern:
We are looking for the ideal candidate to work the below.
Monday to Friday 7:30am - 13:00pm.
