Production Engineer
Job Description
Chilli Penguin Stoves is looking for a Production Engineer ideally with some management experience to join our team based in Pwllheli, Gwynedd. We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated, innovative production engineer to oversee our manufacturing processes. You will be drawing up production schedules and budgets, be monitoring production quality and be identifying problems in the production line which will involve troubleshooting equipment issues. You will be ensuring health and safety codes are followed and participate in training workshop team members in the responsible use of machinery and equipment. You will make sure there is compliance with Company quality, environmental, health and safety policies & ensure general housekeeping is carried out. You will provide strong team leadership and support the customer service experience

We have a network of over 120 stockists nationwide, including our own showroom locally. As a company our interest is beautiful functional design and making products that will last. We are based in an incredible coastal location, 5 minutes from the beach and a 45 drive from the Snowdonia Mountain range If you are looking for more of a work- life balance this is an ideal location; sailing, kayaking, sea swimming, hiking and climbing is all on the doorstep. The company is small enough for you to make a real difference and feel a valued member of the team.
Hours of work are 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, with an early finish on Friday if weekly production targets are met. We also have a seasonal work pattern which reduces down to a 4 day week for a few months every year. The salary is pro-rata, to include this pattern.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Drawing up production schedules and budgets.
2. Stock control and management, to include procurement of material, components and equipment
3. Contribute to the development of a goods-in procedure
4. Contribute to new product development
5. Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
6. Diagnosing problems in the production process and providing recommendations and training.
7. Liaising with other staff to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour required.
8. Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
9. Establishing and maintaining safety procedures, protocols and regular training
10. Minimize the carbon footprint and maximise sustainability in all decision making
11. Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing knowledge.
12. Managing the training programmes for new staff.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a minimum of HNC level 4 in Engineering. Previous experience of managing a team and production scheduling would be desirable. IT proficiency required, including Excel. Experience in CAD desirable. Your personal skills and experience will pay a large part in our decision.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
