Axil are looking for a Recycling Operative to join our team at one of our customer sites, playing a key role in managing and processing waste streams safely and effectively.
You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a rotating forklift and other handling equipment, processing a variety of waste streams in a busy, confined environment. You’ll take pride in maintaining a well-organised waste compound, building strong relationships with customer contacts, and constantly looking for ways to improve how we work.
Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a rotating FLT and manual handling equipment to sort, bale and compact waste

Manage recycling streams, processes and standards within the on-site compound

Carry out daily pre-use checks on all machinery and vehicles

Ensure recycling is correctly segregated and stored in line with Axil and site procedures

Maintain excellent communication with site teams, managers and customers

Monitor waste levels around site and arrange container exchanges as required

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation

Report all near misses, incidents and accidents via our reporting app

Promote a safe, positive and inclusive working environment
What We’re Looking For
Essential:

Full UK driving licence
-
FLT Counterbalance licence
-
Strong health & safety awareness
-
Basic IT skills
Desirable:

Towing experience
-
Waste management experience
-
Manual handling experience (training provided if required)

Monday to Friday, 07.00-15.00
Pay
£13.47 per hour
