Position Summary
The Market Director HR (MDHR), Luxury UKI & Western Europe acts as the senior HR business partner for Marriott International’s luxury brands across the UKI and Western Europe. This role translates business strategy into people practices that build organizational capability, drive performance, and support business growth.
The MDHR partners closely with HR Centers of Excellence and business leaders to ensure effective delivery of Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Total Rewards, and Learning & Development initiatives. Reporting HR Leaders across the luxury portfolio, this role plays a critical part in building a high-performance culture, strengthening leadership capability, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and Marriott standards.
The successful candidate will lead complex regional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and drive measurable business outcomes across a diverse, multi-brand luxury hotel portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement strategic HR initiatives across the luxury portfolio in the UKI and Western Europe region.
- Partner with Regional Vice Presidents, General Managers, and HR Leaders to align people strategies with business objectives.
- Drive talent acquisition, workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
- Oversee the recruitment and development of property HR Leaders across the region.
- Lead human capital reviews and support organizational effectiveness and talent management strategies.
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee and labor relations matters while ensuring compliance with local legislation and company policies.
- Analyze workforce and associate engagement data to identify trends and implement improvement strategies.
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, and new hotel openings by providing strategic HR leadership and transition planning.
- Champion a culture of ethics, inclusion, collaboration, and peak performance across the region.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and drive execution of continent-wide HR programs and initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- Minimum 6–8 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives within large, matrixed, international organizations.
- Strong experience within luxury hospitality brands and/or hotels.
- Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and leading change across multiple geographies.
- Experience working across EMEA markets is strongly preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Hospitality, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred.
