Home-Start East Antrim – Carrickfergus
Location: Oakfield Community Centre, Carrickfergus
Hours: 20–25 hours per week (flexible – to be agreed with the successful candidate)
Salary: £13.72 per hour (NJC Scale 4, Point 7 – pro rata). NJC cost-of-living award pending, subject to organisational approval.
Contract: 12 months (continuation subject to future funding)

Home Start East Antrim family support charity has been at the of the community for 25 years, providing support to parents with children under 5, when they need it the most.
Based in our main premises in Carrickfergus, we work on an outreach basis across Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey with a friendly staff team who work alongside our dedicated volunteers and Board of Trustees.

Family Support Practitioner (Early Years)
This post offers an exciting opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a real difference to the lives of local families.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your knowledge and experience in early years, family work or a related setting to make a genuine difference to the lives of parents and young children.
Working as part of our friendly team, you will support families with children under five through a combination of home visiting, direct family support and group activities. You will build positive relationships with parents, help families identify their strengths and goals, and provide practical and emotional support to improve family wellbeing and children’s outcomes.
Whether your background is in early years, childcare, family work, education, health or the voluntary sector, if you are passionate about supporting parents and giving children the best possible start in life, we would love to hear from you.

Location: Home-Start East Antrim main office in Carrickfergus and outreach at families homes and community locations – own transport required (mileage provided).
Role Type: 12 month post (extension subject to funding).
Hours
20–25 hours per week (options available).
Term-time and non-term-time working options available.
Salary
NJC Scale 4, Point 7 £13.72 per hour

The role involves working across targeted areas of Carrickfergus, and mileage will be reimbursed in line with organisational policy.
