Junior Accounts Administrator
About the Role
We are looking for an organised and motivated Junior Accounts Administrator to join our growing business in Ashington.
The successful candidate will support the Accounts, Sales and Contracts teams by ensuring that sales, purchase and other transactional information is processed accurately and on time.
This is a busy and varied role requiring excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively to weekly and month-end deadlines.
You will also be encouraged to identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and help the business operate more efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain associated Excel spreadsheets and internal records.
- Prepare and distribute customer statements.
- Process supplier invoices and match costs against purchase orders.
- Reconcile supplier accounts against statements and investigate any discrepancies.
- Calculate and process CIS deductions where applicable.
- Assist the Sales and Contracts teams with customer credit-limit monitoring and credit-limit requests.
- Support the Accounts team in meeting weekly and month-end deadlines.
- Assist with general administration and provide support across other areas of the business when required.
- Contribute ideas to improve existing accounts and administrative processes.

· Be comfortable discussing account information and queries with colleagues and senior management.
Experience and Qualifications
- · GCSEs, including Mathematics and English, are preferred.
- · Previous experience within an accounts, finance or administrative environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
- · Experience using Microsoft Excel and other office-based software would be beneficial.
- · Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Employment Details
- Permanent, full-time position based at our Ashington office.
- Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm.
- Salary will be discussed during the recruitment process.
- 25 days’ annual holiday entitlement.
