Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our premises. This role involves performing routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance across various building systems. Duties
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics interpretation.
- Carry out welding tasks as required for structural repairs or modifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults using mechanical knowledge and maintenance expertise.
- Supervise maintenance activities carried out by team members or external contractors to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing building-related concerns promptly and professionally.
- Lead by example in promoting safety protocols and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, welding, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance.
- Strong understanding of building systems and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-specialists.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to electrical work, welding, and general building maintenance.
- Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering or related fields are preferred but not essential if accompanied by substantial practical experience.
