We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our professional team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections in accordance with MOT testing standards.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools efficiently to complete repairs accurately and safely.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
- Keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work complies with legal safety requirements and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organised workshop environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist in ordering parts and managing stock levels as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a mechanic or in a similar automotive repair role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
- Experience with MOT testing procedures and standards is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
