We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher / Supervisor to lead a weekly after-school Art Club at a primary school in Puckeridge, Hertfordshire. The club will give children the opportunity to explore their creativity, experiment with different materials and techniques, and develop their artistic skills and confidence in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment.
The club will run weekly from the end of October onwards, 3:30pm – 4:30pm (1 hour per week), with the day of the week to be confirmed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small group of primary-aged children during engaging and creative Art Club sessions.
- Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate art projects using a variety of materials, techniques, and creative themes.
- Introduce children to areas such as drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, craft, and other forms of creative expression.
- Encourage children to experiment with their own ideas and develop confidence in their artistic abilities.
- Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities, and levels of experience.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment where children can enjoy being creative and take pride in their work.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children's participation and progress.
- Ensure art materials and the activity space are organised, safe, and prepared for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching or leading art, craft, or other creative activities for primary-aged children.
- Confidence planning and delivering engaging projects suitable for a range of ages and abilities.
- A creative and enthusiastic approach with the ability to inspire and encourage young learners.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A background in art, design, creative education, teaching, or a related subject is highly desirable.
Pay: £30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1.0 per week
