Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LAMDA Teacher to support our educational team in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of working with young children, particularly within LAMDAs Communication / Performing Arts examinations. We predominantly focus on introductory and speaking verse and prose exams with the hopes to start acting exams.
This role would suit an experienced LAMDA / Communication tutor looking for regular work in the area to supplement another teaching role. Currently, we run sessions Monday - Thursday 3.30pm - 5pm. LAMDA is run as an after-school opportunity in year groups.
School years 1-6 (groups of 3-10), 3 x 30 minute groups per day, 4 days per week. This is subject to change with Septembers club interest. All classes are from 3.30pm.
Duties
- Delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students in groups of up to 10.
- Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their participation and helping them express their thoughts and feelings.
- Observe and report on student progress, behaviour, and any concerns to the project lead.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is required.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with both children and staff members.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to varying situations within the classroom setting.
- Experience teaching or examining with LAMDA is essential.
