Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Door Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of doors across residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in construction and related trades to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment. Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team. All positions are paid, including internships.
Duties
- Measure and assess door openings to ensure accurate fitting and installation
- Install a variety of doors, including wooden, metal, and composite doors, ensuring they meet safety standards and client specifications
- Repair or replace damaged or faulty doors and associated hardware such as hinges, locks, and handles
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble door components with precision
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to facilitate accurate installation
- Fabricate custom door frames or panels as required using carpentry and fabrication skills
- Conduct quality checks post-installation to ensure proper alignment, security, and finish
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, or plastering teams when necessary
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to health & safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, construction painting, masonry or related trades is highly desirable
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, fabrication or masonry is advantageous
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction work
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Experience working on-site in construction environments with adherence to safety protocols
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or within a team setting
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials safely and stand for extended periods
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential depending on site requirements

Pay: £24,420.00-£52,825.26 per year
