North East Dance CIC is seeking a visionary Creative Director (28 hours/week | £26,208) to lead an exciting new Heritage Lottery-funded initiative celebrating Sunderland’s rich dance heritage.
Location: Sunderland & North East
Hours: 28 hours per week
Salary: £26,208 actual per annum
Term: Fixed-term (Heritage Fund Grant Dependent)

This is a unique opportunity to shape a groundbreaking community heritage project exploring movement, identity, migration, and cultural storytelling through dance.
You will lead the artistic vision and creative delivery, working closely with communities, heritage experts and partners to co-create performances, workshops, oral histories and performance events.
A key part of this role will be to ensure the project delivers and maintains strong heritage outcomes and measurable impact, in line with Heritage Lottery Fund objectives and organisational values.
We are looking for an innovative, collaborative creative leader with experience in participatory arts, community engagement, and inclusive practice.
This is a North East-based / community-focused role
