Full-Time Experienced Bar Person
The Winyard's Gap Inn, Chedington, Dorset
We're not looking for someone simply to work behind a bar. We're looking for someone to become part of one of Dorset's most welcoming country pubs.
The Winyard's Gap Inn is a busy, independently owned pub and dining room with six guest bedrooms, stunning countryside views and a loyal local following. We serve honest, locally sourced food, host live music throughout the summer and pride ourselves on exceptional hospitality.
We're looking for an experienced, energetic and super friendly full-time bar person to join our team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a thriving business where no two days are the same. A competitive salary of £32,000 per year, together with generous tips, is available for the right person.
The Role
- Deliver exceptional customer service to every guest.
- Prepare and serve drinks efficiently during busy service.
- Open and close the pub, taking responsibility for the bar and ensuring everything runs smoothly during your shift.
- Be confident working independently and making decisions when required.
- Help keep the bar clean, organised and well stocked.
- Assist with cellar duties, stock replenishment and maintaining high standards throughout the bar.
- Work closely with the kitchen and front of house team to deliver a great customer experience.
- Help deliver successful events, live music nights and seasonal promotions.
- Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for locals, diners and visitors alike.
About You
You will:
- Have previous experience working behind a busy bar.
- Be confident opening and closing a pub and working independently.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, food-led environment.
- Be friendly, reliable, organised and hard-working.
- Stay calm under pressure and take pride in delivering excellent hospitality.
- Be happy to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
