Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental criteria. Responsibilities
- Carry out MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models in compliance with current legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, exhaust systems, and emissions.
- Identify any defects or issues that may prevent vehicles from passing the MOT test and communicate findings clearly to customers.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the MOT bay equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly at all times.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Assist with general workshop duties as required, including minor repairs or maintenance tasks.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections and accurate reporting.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple inspections efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining inspection results clearly to customers.
- Prior experience as an MOT Tester .
