Clinical Deputy Manager

Connaught House Specialist Care Centre is looking to recruit an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team.
Reporting directly to the Home Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care for our residents. You will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, provide clinical leadership and oversight, and ensure the home maintains the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Registered Nurse who is passionate about improving outcomes for residents, supporting nursing teams, and driving continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain active NMC registration and practice in accordance with professional standards and codes of conduct.
- Act as a member of the Senior Management Team, providing leadership, support, and direction to care services within the home.
- Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day operation of the service and assume responsibility for the home in their absence.
- Work as part of the Registered Nurse rota while undertaking a number of supernumerary shifts each week.
- Lead on clinical governance, risk assessments, safeguarding investigations, and quality assurance processes.
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing and care staff to deliver outstanding care.
- Ensure residents receive safe, effective, and person-centred care tailored to their individual needs.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of care plans.
- Monitor medication management practices and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive culture that encourages teamwork, learning, accountability, and professional development.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A valid NMC registration as an RGN, RMN, or RNLD.
- Previous experience in a senior nursing, clinical lead, or supervisory role within a care home or similar healthcare setting.
- Experience managing residents with complex needs, including dementia care.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, clinical governance, care planning, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
