We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef wanting to be part of our independent business. With a level two in food hygiene (or willing to complete this as part of the recruitment process), you will become an integral part of our kitchen team supporting the head chef on a daily basis and running the kitchen in their absence. Kitchen stock management and ordering will become essential to your day to day role.
A thorough and high level of kitchen hygiene and checks will be an essential requirement of you and all other staff continuously throughout the course of each and every shift.
You will have at least two years' experience working within a fast paced restaurant/cafe.
We are passionate about locally sourced, freshly prepared dishes. We buy from local farms, local dairies and bakeries and cook all meals to order.
As we are not open during the evenings we expect all staff to ensure all daytime revenue opportunities are achieved each and every day.
Typical shifts are; 730am - 4pm, 8am - 5pm, 9am - 6pm. At Eat on the Green you will not work evenings.
Pay is weekly. Tips are shared pre-rata (according to hours worked). Meals and drink provided. Uniform provided.
Eat on the Green has an amazing outside dining area with some of the best views in Exeter, and this drives many people to us on a daily basis. You must be prepared to be busy from the start of your shift right through to the end.
Our opening hours are 9am to 5pm every day. .(We are closed on Christmas day :-)
Working for Eat on the Green allows for a positive work life balance and we actively promote this to all staff. You will benefit from great shift patterns and regular days off with 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) pro rata.
This is a full time position only, therefore please expect to work five days from seven with weekend, bank holidays and school holidays working.
As true professionals, we expect all of our Chefs to be clean and presentable at all times. This means a clean, ironed uniform is a good start so you're always looking your best.
Competitive Salary : £33,020 - £34,000 depending on experience.
