We are looking to hire a part-time coffee shop assistant at O For Coffee in Oakley. Oakley does not have a superior public transport system so your own transport is recommended.
The role includes preparing food, baking our delicious scones and cakes while serving customers, barista (making coffee), waiting and clearing tables plus other kitchen duties. As with most coffee shops, the pace of work is up and down depending on the time of day, but is usually quite steady.
O For Coffee is situated inside Tudor Rose Patchwork and the working environment is very good. We also have outside tables.
The shop is open from Monday to Saturday, so we are looking for someone who can work two or three days a week (16-24 hours per week) and who can also work on some Saturdays. We have some flexibility about which days you work over the six days that we operate and the rosters are set by agreement rather than decree! However, you must be reliable and punctual.
While we are hoping for applicants who have previous experience of working in a coffee shop or a similar establishment, we are prepared to train the right person. If you don’t already have a hygiene certificate, we will pay for you to do the course to acquire one.
If you want a role where you can be involved in bringing new cakes and other food to the business and enjoy working with another team and may from time to time help in that business, then this is the job.
