An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy Service as Team Lead for Frailty Medicine.
This key leadership role sits within a well-established multidisciplinary team providing therapy services across our Frailty Assessment Unit and short stay frailty ward. The successful candidate will provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Support Workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care for older adults with complex needs.
Working closely with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team, you will support admission avoidance, timely discharge planning and patient flow through acute frailty pathways. You will also contribute to service development, workforce support and the delivery of operational and quality objectives.
We are seeking an individual with experience in frailty, acute medicine or older people's services who can demonstrate strong leadership skills, sound clinical reasoning and a commitment to continuous improvement. This post would suit either an experienced Band 7 or an ambitious Band 6 ready to take the next step in their career.

To assist the Therapy Manager in providing leadership, guidance, supervision and professional development for all therapy staff and students in the Therapy Department.
Highly specialised, experienced practitioner employed to take a lead role in planning, co-ordinating and delivering Therapy intervention in the specialist area.
To be responsible for the effective provision and development of the clinical service within the speciality at the GEH.
To work in close liaison with the MDT and community partners and to provide specialist training and support.
To provide highly specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and advice in lifestyle management and adaptations to patients and their families/ carers.
To provide advice and support to junior Therapy colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team, with regard to Occupational Therapy intervention.
To contribute to the service development, service provision and coordination of Therapy services, related to the specialist area.
To contribute to the running and development of the service through the promotion, adaptation and development of policies, procedures and guidelines using evidence-based practice.
