Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Minibus Driver to join our team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of students between home to school. Your commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and mechanical knowledge will help create a smooth and secure travel experience for everyone involved.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the minibus, adhering to all traffic laws and school policies.
- Transport students, staff, and authorized personnel to various locations as scheduled.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate clearly with staff, students, and parents regarding schedules or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during transit, including proper use of seat belts.
- Assist with loading and unloading passengers safely and efficiently.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial or delivery driver with a valid driver’s license.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff, students, and parents.
- Knowledge of local traffic regulations and safety standards for passenger transport.
- Prior experience as a Minibus driver or similar role is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills to ensure clear coordination during trips.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS. This will be completed by the school upon appointment.
- Clean and current driving licence.
- Willingness to complete Safeguarding Training.
- Good communication skills, reliability, and a caring attitude towards young people.
- Experience of working with children or in a school transport role is desirable but not essential.
