The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Care Home Manager to lead our team and ensure the home operates to the highest standards of care, compliance, and resident experience. You will be responsible for the overall management of the service, including regulatory compliance, staffing, financial performance, and engagement with residents, families, and professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, visible leadership to staff, promoting a positive, inclusive culture
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements, and all statutory standards
- Oversee care quality, risk management, and governance systems
- Manage recruitment, training, supervision, and performance of staff
- Maintain accurate, person‑centred care planning and documentation
- Build effective relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resident wellbeing and service outcomes
- Manage budgets, occupancy, and financial performance
- Ensure the home remains safe, welcoming, and well‑organised at all times
- As part of the role, you may be required to work alternate weekends, out of hours or evenings.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced manager within adult social care (residential or nursing)
- Knowledgeable in CQC regulations and quality frameworks
- Skilled in leading teams, managing change, and building a positive workplace culture
- Confident in decision‑making, problem‑solving, and handling complex situations
- Passionate about person‑centred care and resident wellbeing
- Self-motivated with a “can do” attitude.
- Organised, resilient, and able to balance operational demands with strategic priorities
Essential:
- Previous management experience in a care home setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Health and Social Care
- Experience with digital care systems
