We are looking for a confident, organised and personable Host & Assistant to the Head of Reservations and Events to join our team across our Cinder restaurants, with a main focus on our new site, No.FortyNine.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy hospitality environment and is happy to be flexible with evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will support the reservations and events team, assist with guest enquiries, help manage bookings and provide a warm, professional first impression during service. You will report into our Head of Reservations and Events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcoming guests and creating a warm, confident first impression
- Hosting busy services across evenings and weekends
- Supporting the Head of Reservations and Events with enquiries, bookings and event admin
- Managing reservation enquiries via phone, email, OpenTable and other online platforms
- Assisting with group bookings, private dining, VIP reservations and full venue hire enquiries
- Keeping accurate records of bookings, cancellations, amendments and guest notes
- Communicating clearly with guests regarding special requests, deposits, menus and booking details
- Helping manage guest feedback, requests and any issues professionally and efficiently
- Working closely with front of house, management and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service
- Supporting the training of new team members on booking processes and guest service standards
- Helping improve reservation processes to support both the guest experience and the business
- Being flexible to work across multiple sites when needed
Experience & Skills Required:
- Previous hospitality experience is essential
- Experience using OpenTable or similar reservation systems
- Confident handling large party bookings, private dining and full venue hire enquiries
- Comfortable looking after VIP guests with professionalism and discretion
- Able to make sensible on-the-spot decisions that support both the guest experience and the business
- Excellent phone etiquette and a warm, professional manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Calm under pressure and confident resolving guest issues
- Good teamwork skills with the ability to communicate across departments
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are desirable but not essential
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
