This is a highly regarded, busy inn with 11 bedrooms which has won a multitude of awards.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes and standards
- Coordinate food preparation activities to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock rotation efficiently
- Support in the development of new dishes and culinary techniques to enhance menu offerings
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Serve as a role model for team members by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and leadership
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management

We are offering a competitive salary of £40,000 including tips, plus an additional bonus scheme.
