Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for supporting various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, practical skills in horticulture and construction, and the ability to operate a range of tools and machinery. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience in outdoor maintenance and infrastructure development within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and turf care
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems
- Support construction activities by preparing sites, digging trenches, and laying foundations
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal operation
- Assist with gardening and horticultural tasks to promote healthy plant growth
- Support team members in executing projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times
Skills
- Practical knowledge of landscape maintenance and gardening techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as shovels, spades, rakes, and saws
- Ability to perform basic construction tasks including digging, lifting, and site preparation
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining equipment and work sites
- Physical fitness suitable for outdoor labouring tasks over extended periods
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in horticulture or related fields is advantageous but not essential
